EcoPower Insulation Element for Intura SunTube

The EcoPower Insulation Element for Intura SunTube is designed to significantly improve the thermal performance of daylight tube systems. By adding a high-performance insulation element with double or triple glazing, heat loss through the diffuser is reduced while maintaining excellent natural daylight transmission.

Improved thermal insulation 

The insulation element is constructed using PIR insulation panels, aluminium tunnel connectors and high-performance glazing units, ensuring excellent durability and insulation performance.

Reduced heat loss through the ceiling diffuser 

The EcoPower insulation element is available for three SunTube diameters: SunTube25, SunTube35 and SunTube55. Each version is optimised to fit the diffuser and ceiling element of the corresponding Intura SunTube system.

Compatible with double and triple glazing units 

When an optional insulation element is added, these values improve significantly. With double glazing (Ug 1.1) and a thermally improved spacer, the UST values decrease to 0.930.94 and 0.91 W/m²K. In the best-performing configuration, using triple glazing (Ug 0.6) and a spacer with improved thermal performance, the results reach 0.700.69 and as low as 0.65 W/m²K.

The thermal performance of the Intura SunTube system with insulation element has been independently calculated by the research institute Itecons.

The calculations were performed in accordance with:

  • ISO 10077-2:2017
  • ISO 10211:2017
  • French Réglementation Thermique – Règles Th-U Fascicule 3

These standards are widely used in Europe to determine thermal transmittance values of building components.
